Mobile Ink Library

The Mobile Ink Library is a .NET component that provides support for the new Windows Mobile 6 WISP Lite API in your .NET Compact Framework applications.

WISP Lite provides a rich inking experience through high quality curve-fitted ink with anti-aliasing, transparent ink, and highlighter ink. WISP Lite also provides a native API for Ink collection, data management, rendering, and recognition and also provides Ink controls to support the note taking scenario. For more information about WISP Lite, please read this MSDN article.

WISP Lite does not provide any support for inking in .NET Compact Framework applications. OpenNETCF decided to create a .NET library that offers the full functionality of the Windows Mobile 6 Ink Control and COM interfaces and release the source code to the Windows Mobile & .NET Compact Framework development community.

The following samples are included in the download:

  • InkObjDemo - Demonstrates the various features available with the InkOverlay class
  • InkControlDemo - Demonstrates the various features available with the InkCanvas control
  • BasicRecognitionCF (ported from Windows Mobile 6 SDK) - Allows a user to input text with the stylus, and then uses WISPLite to recognize the text.
  • InkNotesCF (ported from Windows Mobile 6 SDK) - Allows a user to view and edit ink notes. These ink notes can also be imported to OneNote on the desktop
  • InkSerializationCF (ported from Windows Mobile 6 SDK) - Allows a user to sign on a region and save the signature along with one's name in a file.

Please use the download button below to get the latest stable release of the OpenNETCF Mobile Ink Library source and samples. You can also get the latest source code from the anonymous Subversion repository.
